I know the answer probably isn't clear-cut, but your speculations are much-appreciated. I use Hybrid sleep, rarely re-boot or shutdown. I now use free avg virus software instead. Still have problems with Explore crashing all the time when moving and copying files. Otherwise is there anything I can do in the meantime? Most users propobly don't know those tools exist. -We tried rolling back to an earlier recovery point... I think that me going through this process is what has kept me from experiencing more severe black screen episodes like the others here.
Removing the note and the app fixed the problem. I still have used it transferring some files via bluetooth and my battery was drained and went try so i try to full charge it no big deal it happen to HP has some crappy printer monitoring programs that you don't need and can cause issues with shutting down. You can restart the computer and press F8 to get a list of boot options, which includes Safe Mode, Last Known Good Configuration, etc. That's much easier to deal with than messing around with hardware, the BIOS, and all kinds of crazy repair tools.
