And I'm not sure if the drive is allright I'm leaning towards agreeing with Snagglegaster and saying that the drive is just physically damaged, I guess I'll just have to look If updating the firmware does not work, then you must replaced the drive. I prefer to make my dvd master at the slowest speed possible to have the least errors. Using an external is always an option, but it would be very limiting unless your machine can boot from an external for repairs or installation of Windows.
