Too bad the "lesson learned" part couldn't have been in the Owner's Manual. unplugged and remove power supply refitted power supply finished scanning. Canon Printer Won't Turn On
Nothing, with or without the printhead in. I tried the Timroperco method but my printer didn't startup. and then remembered I'd done this about 3 yrs ago.(The PSU case looked like rats had gone at the edges).This time, PSU still appears OK (R-Y bridge -> 24/32V)... It works!
Usually I can fudge my way to fixing these things, but I have no idea here. It seems there should be a simple solution rather than running out to buy a whole new printer or ship it across the country for a couple days or weeks. It was mid print on an envelope and just shut down. Canon Printer Doesn't Turn On We too had had a power interruption, and the printer was totally dead after it.

Since the power supply is stamped with information that the outputs should be 24V and 27V, I bought a new power supply from Canon. hahaWhile I appreciate that the Canon engineers *knew* there was a problem, their solution to it has caused a LOT of people a lot of money owning a useless product. Tell your state representative to support S618. but nothing is working and now I can't turn the power off. You can now release the bar and move the Print head freely.To confirm the fault, try to power up the printer with the Print Head removed.
They were all fine. Now open the top cover and then plug back in the power cord and try to turn the power on. Suspect power surge in locality (NYC). I've acted as per the 8 steps...

Mostly after print head cleaning. Tried disconnecting, unplugging... I have tried unplugging and resetting. But I took your advice, left the printer unplugged from the wall outlet while I ran errands and whenever I plugged it back in, it went right to work.
I know nothing of electronics or circuitry.
