i believe its graphics card has burned up or something. No video. I tried both oven and hair dryer. HP offered to replace the motherboard for $250. check my site

There is alot of plastic on the Main Board for junction connection with white and black colour, are there save for 385 deg F? wireless led is amber but the screen…..no image or flash of an image on the screen (no post either). I tried another AC adapter, new memory modules but it didn't help.

It is a compaq pressario v6000. Temperature which I used was a 200 celsius, cooled 20 minutes outside (I checked temperature of motherboard before putting it back on pc). Today I fixed the same laptop with a heat gun (Black & Decker BD1602, setting 1): 300C degrees, 55 seconds. useful reference I read somewhere that wrapping an xbox in towels fixes the rrod (red ring of death)… a video card failure just as explained here.

I would think something like that might help it out a bit. I saw various videos on GPU reflow so I thought I'd give it a try using a Porter Cable heat gun from Lowes ($30) and two layers of aluminum foil around I suppose it's because of the oven. Same problem.
It's easier to disconnect the cable from the power switch board if you remove the board first. Almost made me feel like Im defusing a bomb or something. I think I might try this trick. I had to go through 3 power connectors ($350) and 7 battery chargers ($150).
