WHat you are describing now is not a display failure but a power source.. See if you can see the boot when plugged into an external desktop monitor. Then the only fix is motherboard replacement or new laptop. The LED''s are still on (power, wifi, scroll lock, etc.) and I can hear it running. useful reference

Your report indicated the LCD failed at random times. You shouldn’t have to beg the manufacturer for permission to fix it when it breaks. I think it has X1D or XLD or somthing written on it. Posting more than once with the SAME thing in the post content is unacceptable...

THis is a classic failure symptom of the CCFL tube, but the video adapter is OK, so no worriy there.
Plug N Play might set this up or give you the dah dum sounds of a new hardware device detected. Again, mine at least gives that flicker and then goes out, and holding the power button for 30 seconds with the battery out (like I've been reading) didn't seem to work Turns out the new one was faulty!

So i hooked it up to an external monitor, and i was able to see the display with various... Repair is easy relative to finding the fault. .Replacing an entire board is often easier than locating the fault for some .
