Go figure. Although for several months I was having this issue with just one battery and now the other and now even when just plugged straight in to power plug(not knowing I can i tried going into the bios and check the power supply and it detects the adaptor but says its only 50w but i know its 90w. Software and security is all up-to-date, and there are no other issues with it - please help!!!

Windows will detect the battery discharging, but the battery will be absent on recharge (power light will stop flashing, but charge light will remain flashing). No barrel-tip radio shack iron, you'll never be able to do any surface mount with one. They repaired a motherboard for me great service guys. After a few minutes or like maybe an hour later I get the Power (the first light out of the 3 is I think the power light?) and battery light flashing.
I replaced mine and I am using my Dell 1100 to send this message. You are correct, the CPU and all the other bits transfer over. After all joints are soldered, clean the board with some cleaner, such as isopropyl alcohol. We do not want to particularly buy in new components that are not needed and would like to try and ascertain the problem first.
Repeat this untill all joints are soldered.
