I will run memtest for 8+ hours now and hopefully it can identify something.The high pitch noise is actually coming from the tower. Additional information What should I do when a computer freezes? It was a big flop on NVIDIA's side, esp. Now it wont even boot, hungs at the begining. 12 hungs as well at boot. I had a similar problem a year or so ago with my old 8500GT.

Will let you know how that goes. I will run windows repair later to see if it helps.I think that narrows it down to either graphics card or harddrive issues. The functions of some applications may attempt to perform actions or access resources that Windows cannot understand.
