For a HD7950, it should have 32amps or more. Sometimes my pc would freeze on start up or as i was loading a new zone. I'd play a game, and at some time, it would just freeze, with the screen going black. You could try a version of linux, something like mint: http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php You can actually install steam in linux and play certain games.
