Then if it's possible, try using a different PCI slot. I read somewhere else (in this site also) that it's not an unusual problem with the Creative Sound Cards and VIA chipsets. Happens after some hours of work, doesn't matter if I use the soundcard or not. So the culprit was a broken sound card...I never suspected it. My Audigy 2 doesn't even automatically pop up a window. I uninstalled the Audigy drivers completely (using an utility given in the Creative CD).
I solved the problem. My Audigy 2 ZS is just broken. I would recommend you to have audigy installed first, then the onkyo. It all depends what two cards are running, are they sharing interrupts, what drivers are being used.
