I installed Windows XP on her computer 6 months ago. I suppose VLC and MPlayer are about equal. It works well - except for Flash, version 11.8. Had Huntbar, detected and cleaned by Norton's AV '05, cleaned some more out with spybot; then ran Symantec's Huntbar removal tool--3 more files and four running processes were detected and removed!
solved Will using a sound card in a pcie x16 slot slow down my graphics card? I find that I can also always capture a video frame played in Flash video with Print Screen, but cannot do that from fast video players. You will now need to remember to check for updates yourself. HDD suddenly slow down. I've even stayed disconnected from the Net and XP automaticly goes into convulsions, it wants its updates or it slows down also untill it gets what it wants.
