Asus A7n8x Doesn't Recognize 1T Sata Drive?

thanks hafengrThe RAID controller on this motherboard is very outdated, and doesn't support SATAII. All rights reserved. I noticed that during the BIOS screen before the windows XP CD was even read the new SATA drive showed up. I had to do 2 things to get my SATA drives recognized by Windows: 1-Enable SATA on the mobo: If your system isn't recognizing SATA drives, it may be a jumper http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/asus-a7n8x-doesnt-recognize-1t-sata-drive.110676/
I downloaded the latest motherboard bios update and flash utility from the Asus support site, the latest sata bios update from the Silicon Image support site, and the cbrom v2.15 merge You may have the same issue, so to avoid any questions, before you start your build, create a diskette loading the drives of the controller. Don't press Ctrl+S or F4 unless you truly intend to create a RAID array. 2-Install SATA drivers. It took me a while to set it up. Thanks for any assistance! Join the community here.
