Having owned a Pentium 4 and extensively used Athlon 64 in school in those days, I know the difference and most do too. Ever since I've been recommending them I've never heard a single negative comment about them.

Warranty of more than 2 years still left. If I was to get get in to a 2k budget I'd spend it on a SSD, 2 extra monitors for Eyefinity, Corsair 800D, ect. and the price factor seems to play a major role in that. I was looking for more info on the subject.

I'd say that a top end gaming system should have 6GB (triple channel) or 8GB (Dual channel), anything more than that is pointless....unless you are, like james'd said, into HQ rendering I'm on 3.4 GHz from 2.7 GHz. My AMD Athlon x2 7750+ BE wich I'm trying to overclok can't go over 2.9 ghz. So 2k seems OK for your modules.
BTW is there a better way to utilize 4 sata HDs? Zebronics basic cabby 6. For a quick sale around 3kish or so. Bundled with PS3.
